Summary of Job Duties:
This is an unpaid internship at the UAMS Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville, AR. The Administration & Finance Intern will work under the direct supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor of UAMS Northwest Regional Campus for Administration and Finance. This internship is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in healthcare administration and finance, allowing them to apply their academic knowledge and develop practical skills in a real-world healthcare setting.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist with research, data collection, and analysis related to financial and administrative initiatives.
• Support the development and monitoring of budgets, financial reports, and forecasting tools.
• Participate in process improvement and project management activities.
• Help draft communications, reports, presentations, and other administrative documents.
• Attend meetings, take notes, and assist with follow-up tasks as directed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and departments as needed.
• Perform other administrative support duties as assigned.
Learning Objectives:
• Gain insight into healthcare financial operations and administrative management within a regional healthcare setting.
• Apply academic knowledge of business and finance to practical administrative tasks and strategic initiatives.
• Develop professional communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Understand the broader landscape of healthcare management and finance at an academic medical center.

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Strong interest in healthcare operations, finance, and administration.
- Self-started with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling confidential information with discretion.
