Job Description Summary
The Program Coordinator II promotes the success of the Evidence Center by providing programmatic support, including coordination of communication efforts and special projects.
Responsibilities
Communication/Marketing:
Manages and updates key digital platforms (i.e., social media pages and websites) for the Evidence Center.
Develops, writes, edits, designs and produces informational materials related to Center activities and projects for publication.
Serves as liaison to Texas A&M AgriLife Marketing & Communications; adheres to state and system requirements related to branding and accessibility.
Assists leadership in creating, developing and implementing a strategic marketing/communications plan.
Assists in the coordination of media coverage to promote activities and thought leadership. Actively pitches media opportunities to various media outlets and key stakeholders.
Special Events/Other:
Assists in coordinating speaking opportunities for Center leadership; and in preparation for these opportunities, maintains records for speaking engagements.
Coordinates special projects for the Center.
Coordinates materials and strategy to promote Center reputation.
Oversees special projects.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
6 years of experience in communications.
Experience working within the Texas A&M University System.
Experience in Scientific writing.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Working knowledge of WordPress or other content management systems for managing websites.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Ability to occasionally travel for story interviews/photos.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Self-motivated.
