FlexGen makes software that powers the clean energy revolution. With our HybridOS platform, we enable customers to deploy and manage large-scale battery storage systems more efficiently than traditional energy management systems. Our solutions are critical to the stability and reliability of power grids as they incorporate more renewable energy sources. 

 

As an Associate Software Integration Engineer at FlexGen, you'll be at the intersection of software development and physical energy systems, creating the connections that make our clean energy solutions work seamlessly. You'll collaborate across teams to ensure our software integrates perfectly with various renewable assets, including batteries, power conversion systems, and solar installations. Your role will be crucial in delivering high-quality, reliable solutions that help transition the world to cleaner energy. 


Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Communication Protocols: Modbus, DNP3 
  • Networking: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN configuration
  • Operating Systems: Linux, Windows 
  • Configuration: JSON/YAML file formats 
  • Virtualization: Docker 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field 
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles 
  • Experience with network communications and protocols 
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments 
  • Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail 
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status (capable of working without sponsorship) 
  • Experience working with energy storage assets (batteries, power converters, meters, protective relays) 
  • Understanding of three-phase power systems and grid stability principles 
  • Willingness to travel (~10% based on commissioning schedules)
