We’re looking for an visionary and business-minded Head of Product – CTV & Streaming to lead our product strategy and execution across Connected TV platforms and streaming services. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-performance, scalable, and user-centric viewing experiences on platforms like Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Samsung Tizen, and others. You will play a pivotal role in shaping how audiences interact with our content across devices—owning everything from discovery and playback to personalization, monetization, and innovation. In this role, you are accountable for TEGNA’s CTV plus apps, FAST Channel strategy, CTV creator workflow requirements, Stream performance, CTV monetization and more.

Who you are

You are a product leader with deep expertise in streaming and CTV platforms, with a track record of building intuitive, responsive, and high-quality experiences across devices. You understand the technical nuances of OTT distribution and bring strong experience across both client-side and backend systems involved in delivering video content at scale. You’re obsessed with viewer experience—from seamless playback and content discovery to reducing buffering and ensuring platform consistency. You know how to balance business needs (subscriptions, ads, engagement) with world-class UX, and can prioritize what moves the needle for both users and stakeholders. You lead with clarity, are collaborative by nature, and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. You’re data-driven and comfortable diving into KPIs like engagement, churn, buffering rates, ad fill rates, MAUs, and time spent. You have passion for local news, communities, and entertainment – and are deeply motivated to serve our consumers with elegant, intuitive, and helpful tools that will drive deep habituation and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the CTV and streaming product roadmap aligned with company strategy, business objectives, user needs, and platform partner requirements.
  • Build and manage a team focused on CTV and streaming experiences across devices.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, content, data, and monetization teams to deliver high-impact features and platform optimizations.
  • Own the end-to-end experience across apps (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, etc.), including navigation, playback, personalization, and recommendations.
  • Drive innovation in streaming quality, user onboarding, cross-platform continuity, and content discoverability.
  • Manage relationships with platform partners (e.g., Roku, Apple, Google) to ensure compliance, feature adoption, and optimal app performance.
  • Use analytics, A/B testing, and viewer insights to continuously improve engagement, retention, and monetization.
  • Lead efforts in AVOD, SVOD, or hybrid monetization models, ensuring integration with ad tech partners and subscription infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years leading content, streaming, OTT, or CTV product initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of video streaming technologies, encoding, CDN delivery, and player frameworks.
  • Experience with CTV development platforms (e.g., Roku SDK, tvOS, Android TV) and cross-platform challenges.
  • Strong analytical and prioritization skills; experience with streaming analytics tools, viewer engagement data, and monetization strategies.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams.

Pay Range
$194,000$219,000 USD

Benefits: 

TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families. TEGNA offers two medical plan options for full and part-time employees through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, as well as access to dental and eye care coverage; fertility, surrogacy and adoption assistance; disability and life insurance.

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.
