The Role

As a Talent & Partnerships Partner at a16z, you’ll have ownership of  sourcing, signing, and supporting the voices behind our growing podcast and media network. You’ll leverage your network to build long-term relationships with founders, operators, and creators—helping them shape shows that align with our editorial vision and reach. This role blends talent scouting with strategic deal-making, ensuring the best ideas and people have a home at a16z. You’ll work closely with production, legal, and growth teams to turn partnerships into enduring media properties.

To join our team, you should be excited to:

  • Build strategy for talent & partnership engagement; identify and recruit high-potential hosts, contributors, and collaborators for a16z media
  • Develop and manage relationships with an extensive talent network across tech, business, and culture
  • Negotiate talent agreements, including compensation, rights, and exclusivity
  • Partner directly with talent to provide operational oversight and guidance throughout development, launch, and growth of their shows
  • Collaborate with producers and researchers to align talent with show concepts
  • Own relationships  between talent and internal teams (legal, ops, production)
  • Monitor performance and audience feedback to set and improve ongoing talent strategy
  • Lead and manage guest bookings in collaboration with hosts and producers

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in talent management, media partnerships, or creator relations
  • Proven ability to identify and nurture high-potential voices in business, tech, or media
  • Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with talent agreements and IP considerations
  • Deep network across founders, operators, creators, and subject matter experts
  • Ability to translate abstract ideas or personalities into scalable show formats
  • Comfortable interfacing with legal, production, and brand teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong editorial instincts and understanding of what resonates with niche and mass audiences
  • Passion for building long-term partnerships and shaping category-defining media voices
  • Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $284,000.00 - $332,000.00, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.

This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave.
