Job Description
Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff Systems Engineer (multiple openings) in Highlands Ranch, CO to:
- Support critical applications and ensure the stability of services by performing dedicated maintenance activities.
- Engage in automation activities, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and remediation.
- Responsible for Infrastructure Operations and Production Support of container technologies and orchestration platforms, including incident/change/problem management, call triaging, and critical issue resolution procedures.
- Harden and secure the Kubernetes cluster with monitoring and auditing dashboards.
- Operate in complex, highly secure, and highly available, operations environments and interact with the technology domain experts required to maintain those environments.
- Coach other members of the support team, sharing technical and customer knowledge in a helpful and timely fashion.
- Responsible for partnering with the Platform, Engineering and Delivery Teams to deliver seamless infrastructure support for all Visa business lines.
- Responsible for the Security Remediation process (vulnerability assessment and patch management).
- Contribute to standardize and document operational procedures.
- Responsible for adherence of established ITIL practice such as Incident, Change, Problem and Release Management.
- Be scheduled On-Call to support the infrastructure and our systems.
- Position reports to the Highlands Ranch, CO office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a systems engineer or systems analyst-related occupation.
- Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a systems engineer or systems analyst-related occupation. Position requires experience in the following skills:
- Two years of experience of OnPrem Kubernetes;
- Two years of experience in System Administration;
- Two years of experience with AWS /GCP;
- Two years of Scripting experience (Shell, Python ,Ansible , Terraform and YAML packages);
- Two of experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Ansible, terraform etc.)t;
- Working with tools surrounding the Kubernetes ecosystem such as helm, kubeadm, CSI, or CNI;
- CI/CD or GitOps pipeline Architecture (ArgoCD, Code Fresh, or Jenkins);
- Monitoring and logging tools: Prometheus, Graphana, Fluentbit ,Netcool, and Humio; and
- Networking concepts.

Worksite: Highlands Ranch, CO
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $161,886.00 USD to $188,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity.
