Senior Software Engineer II

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components. Complete complex bug fixes. Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs. Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders. Resolve complex technical issues as necessary. Train entry-level software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles. Keep abreast of new technology developments. Design and work with complex data models. Mentor less-senior software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques. Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required.
• 5 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.

• Also required is:
  • 5 years of experience: expert-level development using Java, J2EE; developing microservices and java modules, implementing business rules and workflows using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
  • 3 years of experience: using MYSQL to write complex queries using different joints, sub queries, and nested queries and fine-tune long-running queries for efficient data retrieval.
  • 2 years of experience: understanding messaging systems like MQ, Rabbit MQ; using Object Oriented concepts to design services.
• Employee reports to LexisNexis Risk Solutions FL, Inc. office in Raleigh, NC, but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.
• Experience can be concurrent.
