ROLE PURPOSE

The Commercial Business Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the Americas Commercial and Finance Teams by providing strategic financial insights, payroll analysis, and commercial business reporting. This role drives retail staffing optimization and financial efficiency, directly contributing to the company’s overall profitability and workforce strategy. This role requires a self-starter with a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams to drive financial optimization and operational excellence. The Analyst reports to Director, Operations and partners closely with the Head of Commercial and Commercial Directors.    

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Retail Staffing Analysis & Management 

  • Develop and manage retail staffing budgets in alignment with financial forecasts and commercial business needs. 
  • Track and report payroll expenses, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. 
  • Analyze labor costs and workforce efficiency to optimize resource allocation while maintaining a best-in-class employee and customer experience. 
  • Partner with HR and Finance teams to assess staffing cost trends, identify risks, and drive cost-saving initiatives. 
  • Provide payroll variance analysis, identifying key drivers and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Responsible for all head count reporting (actuals and forecast) requirements to Group HR Controlling team. 

Commercial Business Analysis 

  • Liaise between the Americas Finance Team and Commercial leads to align staffing budgets with overall financial goals. 
  • Support P&L management by providing data-driven insights on sales performance, operational expenses, and labor investments. 
  • Analyze key financial metrics, including revenue, margin, and profitability, to support strategic decision-making and determine targets for commercial teams (sales and product level)   
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance and forecast future trends. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial reporting and business intelligence capabilities. 

Financial Reporting & Compliance 

  • Ensure accurate reporting within retail scheduling tool (StoreForce) including actual hours vs target; understand the drivers of a variance between StoreForce and P&L.  
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to enhance visibility into payroll trends and commercial performance. 

KEY REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in financial planning & analysis, payroll management, and/or commercial business analysis in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Retail experience a plus 
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems, labor cost structures, and financial planning. 
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting. 
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP and business intelligence tools is a plus. 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders. 
  • Excellent communication skills with a strategic and analytical mindset.
