Key Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing and overseeing credit risk analysis of infrastructure and energy companies and projects and supporting KBRA’s expansion efforts.
- Assign new ratings and providing surveillance for complex infrastructure and energy project finance transactions, including: forecasting future performance using mathematical models; leading the rating process by preparing internal credit reports and submissions for rating committees, analyzing cash flows, and evaluating the legal, contractual, and technical aspects of a project; and developing projects based on mathematical models to confirm the ability of financial models to assess credit risk.
- Identify, approach, and connect KBRA with potential partners to enable KBRA to enter the Latin American market through an alliance, joint venture, or acquisition.
- Monitor and liaise with contacts in local Latin American markets for further brand development and business expansion.
- Oversee annual credit review of portfolio ratings.
- Train junior members of the team on credit, legal, and structural analysis of infrastructure transactions.
- Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
- Develop rating methodology for new asset types and new jurisdictions where KBRA has not previously rated transactions.
- Facilitate client relationships with project sponsors.
- Attend industry conferences and seminars to promote KBRA.
- Share KBRA’s credit view with investors on existing transactions and market developments.
- Write research pieces on the status of the project finance market.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, management, or related field.
- 7 years of prior experience in the offered role or 7 years of prior experience as a credit risk analyst.
- 7 years of experience performing credit analysis in a rating agency, buy-side, credit research, banking, or similar environment.
- 7 years of experience utilizing financial, statistical, and economic analysis skills for financial modeling and cash flow analysis.
- 7 years of experience writing research reports.
- 7 years of experience presenting research and analysis to senior committee members and C-Suite level staff.
- 7 years of experience creating and modifying project and infrastructure finance models.
- 7 years of experience using Microsoft Excel, including formulas and shortcuts, to analyze large datasets.
- 4 years of experience with deal execution or credit risk analysis of power and renewables project financings.
- 4 years of experience with deal execution or credit risk analysis of project and infrastructure finance transactions.
- Must successfully complete competency-based interview.
- Telecommuting permitted within a normal commuting distance of NY office.
- Must report to office 3 days per week
Salary Range:
The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $193,003-$270,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
