Senior Business Analyst

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our Avion team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing, documenting, and developing strategies to propose solutions for complex business problems through data-driven insights. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

 Job Duties & Functions

• Utilize API tools like Postman to test and manage API Calls.

• Develop and maintain dashboards and data models using BI analytic tools such as Power BI, including SQL and PowerQuery.

• Design, implement, and maintain data warehouse architecture to support Power BI reporting and analytics.

• Enhance financial analysis and reporting in BI tool, ProfitSword.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

• Create and analyze weekly and monthly corporate reports. 

• Conduct detailed hotel financial analysis and modeling to identify trends, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.

• Create and present financial budget models using BI tools to support company decision-making.

• Develop and maintain documentation for data warehouse processes and BI tool usage.

• Administer and manage the company's BI tool, ProfitSword.

• Troubleshoot issues related to BI tools, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.

• Leverage M3 Accounting experience to support financial operations.

• Independently identify challenges and propose solutions with intellectual curiosity and drive.

• Collaborate effectively to address and prevent potential problems and develop problem-solving skills among team members.

• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally to convey information clearly.

Requirements

• Experience with API (Postman and similar) – Preferred

• Experience with BI analytic tools such as Power BI - Preferred

• Previous experience with ProfitSword – Preferred

• M3 Accounting experience - plus

• Labor Management, Sales, and Revenue Management system experience 

• Strong experience in creating and presenting financial budget models for the company within the BI tools. 

• Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and drive to identify challenges and independently propose solutions.

• Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems; ability to help develop problem-solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate.

• Strong hotel financial analysis and modeling skills, with the ability to analyze financial data to identify trends and issues, draw conclusions, and make recommendations with attention to detail and timelines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands, while appropriately prioritizing responsibilities.

• Advanced Microsoft Office or related software

• Ability to effectively present information and respond effectively to informational requests

• Requires innovative knowledge of financial terms and principles

• Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret intricate documents

• Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations

Education & Experience

• Three to five years of hotel management background is preferred.

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university. 

• Advanced skills in financial modeling, planning, database management/business intelligence
