Who we need

We're looking for a Director of Marketing to take our GeniusCash app to 1 million new Canadian users and beyond. This is a results-driven, hands-on role for someone who is as strategic as they are scrappy, and as comfortable building a plan as they are executing it.

  • You’ve got a track record of growing digital products (ideally mobile apps), and you’re ready to own user acquisition across channels. You understand that real growth doesn’t happen by accident – it takes testing, learning, pivoting quickly, and relentless follow-through.
  • You hold yourself to a high standard, and your default is excellence for excellence sake. Your work doesn’t need a second pass, and you thrive when you’re trusted to deliver your own outcomes.
  • You’re passionate about personal finance, but you also know how to connect with Canadians that aren’t yet. You can translate a complex product into clear value, build trust with everyday users, and appeal to both the personal finance experts and those who are just starting out.
  • You’re a creative thinker who doesn’t just pitch bold ideas – you make them happen. If needed, you’ll build the landing page, write the copy, create the design assets, launch the campaign, and optimize it all without waiting for someone to do it for you.
  • You’re deeply curious and driven by data – but you also intuitively get what resonates with people.
  • You’re hungry to grow your career, your impact, and the reach of the products you believe in. Maybe you’re not a Director yet, but you’ve already been doing Director-level work and you’re ready to take the next step.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, with a focus on mobile app growth and/or digital product marketing.
  • Proven success with user acquisition and retention strategies, and scaling a product to hundreds of thousands or millions of users.
  • Deep experience running scrappy, budget-conscious campaigns with massive ROI.
  • A results-driven, metrics-first mindset – you care about moving the needle and know how to do it.
  • A deep understanding of marketing strategy, campaign execution, and funnel optimization.
  • Exceptional work ethic and project management skills – you stay organized, on-track, and ahead of deadlines.
  • A hands-on approach – you’re not afraid to dive into the details and get the work done yourself.
  • A strong sense of ownership and personal accountability – you don’t need hand-holding or constant check-ins.
  • High standard and a strong attention to detail – you don’t need anyone to double-check your work.
  • A passion for personal finance and a deep respect for accuracy, education, and consumer trust.
  • Experience marketing to Canadian audiences – you understand our financial landscape.
  • Experience executing or leading high-impact PR or influencer campaigns that drive real visibility and growth.
  • You must live and be legally authorized to work in Canada.

It’s a bonus if you also have:

  • Experience using our products and can surprise us with how well you understand them.
  • Experience in affiliate marketing models and/or performance marketing.
  • Experience in a remote startup or high-growth company environment.

What you'll do

  • Own and execute user acquisition and growth strategies for GeniusCash across digital and non-digital channels to achieve our wildly ambitious goal of 1 million new Canadian users by the end of 2026.
  • Lead and execute campaigns that drive installs, activation, retention, and engagement.
  • Build and manage an efficient, data-informed marketing funnel across platforms.
  • Know our product inside-out and translate its value into messaging that clicks with everyday Canadians.
  • Manage day-to-day marketing operations, including planning, timelines, execution, and reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Content, Dev, and Growth teams to align goals and messaging across all channels.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and stay on top of trends to refine marketing strategy.
  • Work tirelessly to elevate GeniusCash, moneyGenius, and creditcardGenius into iconic brands that every Canadian recognizes and loves.
  • Lead and deliver results without needing constant follow-up or supervision.
  • Align marketing with company values and mission, ensuring every campaign is accurate, inclusive, and helpful for Canadians.
