Reports to Chief Legal Officer
What You Will Own
As a Corporate Paralegal, you will work with the Legal, Compliance & Risk team that includes the Chief Legal Officer, Principal Product & Compliance Counsel, and Associate General Counsel with tasks related to the Company’s compliance with applicable laws including:
Manage Weave’s contract management process, including inbound and outbound contract requests throughout the life of the contract, and maintain standard contract templates that streamline the contracting process.
Provide contract support for standard corporate agreements, such as non-disclosure, marketing, and independent contractor agreements.
Collaborate with Legal and Finance to support legal entity formation and other entity support.
Assist in the preparation of Secretary of State, telecommunications, and other regulatory filings, reports, and registrations.
Assist with drafting and maintenance of corporate governance documents and resolutions, annual reports, D&O questionnaires, and annual filings.
Design legal processes and operations, including leaning in to leverage AI to make processes more effective.
Identify, build, and improve legal workflows, such as those related to negotiation, signature, and organization of agreements, and tracking of contractual obligations.
Serve as initial point of contact for certain categories of requests from business teams
Track third party vendor screening and agreement progress, internal approvals and status.
Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of policies and standards across Weave.
Consult with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure that legal, privacy, security, and compliance risks are effectively addressed.
Develop and communicate guidelines to Weave customers and internal departments and teams to ensure they are aware of regulatory requirements. Provide support for day-to-day compliance related questions and issues from across all departments.
Develop and document compliance reports and required regulatory filings, including breach notifications, consumer complaints, and data subject requests.
Work with other members of the team on special projects and initiatives.
Although no prior legal experience is necessary, this position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, organization, critical thinking ability, and attention to detail. This position will report to the Chief Legal Officer.
What You Will Need to Accomplish the Job
Bachelor’s degree and record of exceptional academic performance, or equivalent educational background or credentials
0-4 years of work experience in one or more of the following areas: legal, administrative or executive assistant, risk management, compliance, auditing
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; should be able to communicate complex topics in an articulate and thoughtful manner with both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong attention to detail, organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement
Strong critical thinking skills and analytical ability
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively as part of a team
Able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, with varying deadlines and/or established timeframes
Proficiency with standard business software and processes, including word processing, contract management, and AI tools
