The Lead Systems Engineer will be part of a team focused on device management and operational support for our Disney Cruise Line ships, private islands, and on-site offices and locations. The engineer will provide expert technical support for endpoints including, but not limited to PCs, MacOS, Android, iOS, Linux, printers, antennas, and much more. This role will also include travel to ports around the U.S. and internationally to assist in supporting ship operations, and to other Disney sites and locations for project work.

Experience in centralized management of PCs and mobile devices in a large enterprise environment is required. Travel requirements vary based on ship itinerary schedules but may be as much as 10 - 15% at peak times.

This is a “hands-on” Engineer who enjoys planning, creating and field-testing real-world enterprise solutions. We seek a forward-thinking team lead who is passionate about delivering quality products and services and enjoys working closely with business partners on both strategic and tactical challenges.  Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work independently as a self-starter, utilize good time management skills, and function well within a diverse team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the oversight, management, and maintenance of our PC, mobile infrastructure and/or shipboard systems and servers, ensuring optimal performance, security, and user satisfaction.
  • Research and PoC next generation technologies for long term planning and evolution of our infrastructure and endpoint strategies.
  • Lead special project efforts such as PC refresh, mobile device lease management, and new build imaging and deployments, including but not limited to budgeting, procurement, and vendor management.
  • Partner with application teams to ensure endpoint management is involved early and often in major releases, that security is considered and implemented, and that appropriate device testing is performed and signed off on.
  • Lead efforts to expand automation and desired state configurations in the Infrastructure Ops space
  • Act as point person for security and compliance initiatives such as PCI audit, findings remediation, and pen testing.
  • Additional Tasks such as image, install, configure, and manage shipboard endpoints, package and distribute software applications, device collection,  support new users and groups in active directory, and other duties as assigned
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for applications and hardware on our ships and on-shore locations
  • Warehouse logistics including processing equipment repairs and shipping project hardware
  • Travel to remote ports to setup embarkation equipment and provide training and technical support (up to 10%)

REQUIRED

  • Must have 7+ Years extensive experience or training in IT, technical support, hardware management and/or computer systems engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Hardware Management and/or computer systems engineering or equivalent experience
  • Must be experienced Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager administrator
  • Must have experience centrally managing Windows devices in a large enterprise environment leveraging MECM (SCCM)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS operating systems
  • Must have 5+ years of experience using scripting skills to automate tasks (Powershell, YAML, Python, other)
  • Self-starter with ability to take initiative and balance multiple priorities with minimal direction
  • Travel between multiple Orlando locations and Port Canaveral with personal vehicle
  • Hands on experience with hardware installations such as PCs, cabling, peripherals. etc
  • Demonstrated strong communication, design skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with Confluence (or other documentation/wikis)
  • Able to diagnose simple to complex system and process problems.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting methodology

PREFERRED

  • Industry certification in Windows, MacOS, Android and IOS.
  • Proven MacOS, IOS and Android experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira, or other Ticketing tools
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • AirWatch / WorkSpaceOne (Strongly preferred)
    • JAMF
    • Ground Control
    • Ansible / AWX
