Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results.
The team provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, fraud risk management and digital strategy. Our approach is end to end, from advisory through to execution support through our managed services team
Job Description
We have a new role as a Program Lead/Senior Manager within our managed services team. to work closely with one of the biggest banks in New Zealand, delivering next generation experiences for their Visa cardholders. You will work alongside a consulting client lead, and managed services lead in New Zealand to oversee the successful delivery of a diverse programme of work and manage a medium to large sized team within that programme. At any one time, there is likely to be 4 or 5 advisory (or data science) projects underway, as well as Visa employees working as part of client teams to help accelerate the delivery of key initiatives.
You will use your delivery experience to help our client to execute the right thing the right way, promote effective ways of working, proactively manage risks and ensure quality and timely delivery of initiatives.
This role would be responsible for recruiting and providing leadership to the team (both technical and business), who will be embedded across the client organisation. Ensuring they are effectively onboarded; their work plan is clear and they have access to all resources needed to be successful. The role would also involve building a relationship with key client stakeholders to ensure the team are delivering value, and discussing future resourcing requirements.

What a Program Lead/Senior Manager does at Visa:

Given this role will require working with numerous stakeholders onsite at the client and within Visa, we are looking for someone who is self-driven and can work autonomously. Your role will contribute to the success of the team by:
- Understanding all VCA work underway (advisory and delivery) and help the client engagement lead to bring these together into a single value narrative to play back to the client.
- Actively supporting the growth and development of your team, and other activities such as recruitment of new team members
- Working closely with the client for delivery and successful ongoing management of Visa products and services
- Managing execution of multiple project engagements, building client relationships, utilising governance frameworks and mitigating / resolving complex problems that emerge.
- Preparing and maintaining detailed project plans, status reports, and issues logs, with a key focus on coordination and delivery of the client’s Visa initiatives.
- Designing and delivering compelling presentations to illustrate findings, ideas and recommendations and more broadly at times support implementation at the client onsite.
- Staying current with industry and client trends and maintaining a strong knowledge of developing Visa products and services.
- Continuously build knowledge, surface new insights, and leverage Visa thought leadership to support our client's success.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Having already accumulated a variety of experience; you will be familiar with the payments industry and keen to work alongside an experienced team in gaining a deeper understanding. Specific skills and experience you will bring are:
- 8-10 years of experience in project management consulting, or business management.
- 4-5 years of line management experience.
- Experience working with or in a highly regulated environment.
- Highly organised with significant project management experience, ideally with experiences of managing broad programmes of work.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adept at building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Innovative thinking, familiar with approaches that could be leveraged to solve client challenges, to decipher complex problems and developing practical solutions.
- Strong team orientation with a collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style; able to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring the highest level of quality/rigour in project deliverables.
- Self-motivated, work well independently, and manage your own time and resources effectively. Able to handle pressure and setbacks and adapt to change quickly and effectively.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
