Job Description

  • Lead client facing initiatives and consulting projects with the objective of producing actionable insights to optimise authorisation performance by leveraging subject matter expertise of the payments ecosystem and value chain.

  • Compare client performance against industry best practices with a shrewd eye toward identifying performance and/or profitability improvement opportunities. Not just potential, but actionable recommendations that drive tangible value for both our clients and Visa.

  • Craft meaningful insights from complex data with content that clearly presents opportunities in an accurate, understandable and engaging manner, ensure data driven decision making is a priority for external Visa clients, colleagues, and other internal stakeholders.

  • Build and deploy capability to generate a forward-looking view of opportunities, develop the hypothesis of key leading indicators of payment trends, gather data and conduct analysis to isolate the key leading indicators of opportunity, develop and deploy the model to continuously track and report on the leading indicators.

  • Identify macro business and market trends that guide areas of future analysis to the mutual benefit of Visa and our clients.

  • Develop an understanding of Visa products and services and how they are most effectively utilized, translate that knowledge into client engagement strategies that yield financial and performance benefits.

  • Cultivate deep partnerships with regional leaders in Client Services and other functional disciplines building relationship capital that facilitates the advancement of strategic, cross-functional initiatives.

  • Partner globally with other regional and global colleagues on scaling work and sharing best practices.

  • Be an expert at getting to the root of a problem, defining business objectives and formalizing data requirements – especially in a fast paced, fluid environment.

  • Direct strategy on combining and analysing disparate data sources and deriving insight in a Big Data environment with multiple data sources and tools.

  • Exceptional business acumen and technical rigor – be able to seamlessly shift between conversations with executives and technical staff.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

 

Qualifications

What you will need: 

  • A Bachelors degree in a quantitative field, advanced quantitative or business
    degree is highly desirable
  • Professionally qualified, including a minimum of 12 years of success in progressively responsible roles, and 10+ years working in analytics, management consulting, strategic operations or insight delivery
  • Possess a relentless client-centric, result-driven mindset coupled with strong problem-solving skills and an ability to break down complex problems and propose alternative, new ways of thinking
  • Expertise in delivering data insights, strategic planning and analytic strategy ability to lead and motivate a team. Superior interpersonal skills and proven abilities in negotiating with and influencing customers and staff at all levels
  • Ability to articulate complex technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support strategic organizational plans
  • Strong internal team and external client stakeholder management with a collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, able to work effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Extensive experience in the banking or financial services sector with Visa experience or knowledge of the payments industry being highly desirable
  • High level understanding of manipulating data from a variety of sources. Big data experience (Hadoop, Hive, Spark) and/or SQL experience is useful
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, including strong oral and written capabilities
  • Excellent time management, project management, organization, and planning skills
  • Ability to set priorities, influence others, and manage customer expectations
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to achieve results as part of an effective team, and ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task under deadlines
