Project Manager (Contract 10 months)
Job Description
At Valerann, we are on a mission to revolutionise the way roads are managed and experienced. Through our cutting-edge data platform, Lanternn by Valerann™, leveraging AI, Computer Vision, and Data Fusion, we provide Road Operators with real-time insights, situational context, and tools to improve road safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
The Role
We’re looking for a proactive, practical, and adaptable Mid-Senior Project Manager to join our team on a 10-month contract. You’ll play a pivotal role in the end-to-end delivery of client projects—working with some of the most forward-thinking road operators globally. You’ll be the client’s main point of contact, ensuring the successful delivery of each deployment, while also contributing to internal delivery processes and supporting oversight across our project portfolio.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind documentation or stick rigidly to process for process’ sake. We’re after someone who can get things done, cut through complexity, roll up their sleeves, and help push our high-impact projects over the finish line.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary delivery lead and day-to-day contact for clients throughout the lifecycle of each Project.
- Own and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables across Discovery, Implementation and Launch phases.
- Facilitate effective discovery processes to gather all necessary information about the client’s road network, data sources, systems, and operational practices.
- Enable the setup and configuration of client-specific product instances, including integrations with traffic flow data, incident detection systems, CCTV feeds, and roadside devices by working closely with the Product and Tech teams.
- Collaborate closely with Valerann’s Product, Data, and Engineering teams to align delivery efforts with client expectations and technical realities.
- Identify and manage risks, blockers, and dependencies—ensuring appropriate stakeholders are engaged to resolve issues.
- Working with Customer Success, drive user acceptance testing (UAT), system handover, and evaluation phases—especially in pilot scenarios that may lead to long-term contracts.
- Contribute to the improvement of internal delivery and project portfolio management processes, maintaining visibility across all active projects and supporting others in delivery roles.
- 4–8 years of experience in a project management or delivery role, preferably in a SaaS, technical consultancy, or data-driven product environment.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex, client-facing technical projects end-to-end.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—able to inspire confidence and clarity both internally and with clients.
- Pragmatic, adaptable and hands-on approach; willing to get involved in detailed tasks when needed to keep delivery moving.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, and making judgment calls on when to follow a process versus when to flex it.
Desirable (but not required)
- Experience delivering projects in transport, infrastructure, smart cities or a public sector environment.
- Familiarity with real-time systems, GIS data, Computer Vision, or IoT integrations.
- Experience in pilot-to-scale deployments or evaluating emerging technologies in operational contexts.
- Background in startup or scale-up settings.
