Medical Animator

UWorld is seeking a full-time Medical Animator to join our onsite team in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. In this role, you’ll collaborate with physicians, medical illustrators, and educators to create high-quality animations that clearly explain complex medical and scientific concepts. We are looking for animators with strong design instincts, technical versatility, and attention to detail across both 2D and 3D workflows.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education
- Master’s degree in Medical Illustration/Animation highly preferred
Minimum Experience
- 3 years of animation experience, including storyboarding and experience with animation and editing systems, sound design, color correction, video production, and codec compression standards
- Exceptional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premier Pro; Experience in Cinema 4D and Maya preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of video and audio file formats
- Strong understanding of timing, visual hierarchy, and layout
- Strong 2D motion graphics skills
- Demonstrated creativity
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to take direction and feedback
Job Responsibilities:
Design and Create
- Work with our team of physicians, nurses, scientists, and medical illustrators to create procedural, surgical, anatomical, and molecular animations
- Layer out or execute animations and illustrations in support of academic materials and interactive content
- Ensure artistic excellence and factual accuracy of animated work
- Create original work and be involved in the animation process from sketch to completion
Consult and Collaborate
- Work with team leads and designers to plan, layout, and execute the vision
- Collaborate with management and team members to define schedules and deliverables, and to ensure goals are met
- Help maintain an efficient and successful production process
- Adapt to shifting priorities and be able to assist our on-site medical and scientific illustrators as needed
Technical/Quality Assurance
- Communicate effectively with IT and quality assurance teams to anticipate and resolve video display issues
- Work independently or in small groups to troubleshoot and provide solutions to production issues related to creation and content building
- Serve as a technical expert in computer-generated imagery, modeling, animation, rendering, and other various multimedia formats
