The Department of Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a full time Post Doctoral Associate position. The incumbent performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.

  • Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.

  • Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.

  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.

  • Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. required.

  • No prior experience required.

Department Specific Functions

Projects rely on mouse models (knockout mice, conditional knockout mice, transgenic mice, PDX mice) and primary cell culture and cell line models (2D/3D organoids). Applicants must be willing to work with mice, and experience with mice is preferred. Lab also uses cutting edge technologies like bulk and single cell RNA sequencing, PDX organoids, co-culture organoid system of stem and immune cells and multiplex IHC/IF. Applicants must have received a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including fluency in spoken and written English. Good organization skill is also required. The successful applicant will be highly skilled in molecular biology techniques (PCR, Western blot, DNA and RNA isolation etc) and cell culture. Knowledge on Flow cytometry and other immunology techniques is a plus.
