  **This position is partially remote.  Candidates will be required to work in the office a minimum of three days a week**  


Department: Road 

Reports To: Department Manager  

Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent  

Registration: Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana, or able to obtain in 12 months  

Experience: Not less than 10 years in Transportation Engineering 

  • Oversee the project from inception to completion of construction.
  • Efficiently produce a complete set of contract documents, including plans, specifications, quantities, and estimates.
  • Conduct meetings, which include preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients.
  • Work with and manage sub-consultants.
  • Coordinate with other internal departments.
  • Manage project costs to ensure profitability.
  • Identify any additional work requested by the client that is beyond the original scope of the contract.
  • Assemble supplements, proposals, and the engineer’s reports.
  • Certify contract plans and designs.
  • Meet all deadlines.
  • Immediately notify the department manager of any problems related to a project.
  • Complete tri-weekly team project status reports.
  • Create a team schedule for the upcoming three weeks.
  • Manage monthly team invoicing and quarterly invoice projections.
  • Review weekly team timesheets.
  • Evaluate staff performance and identify training needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding clients and company practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills:  

  • Work independently with minimal instruction.  
  • Must possess strong communication skills  
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills required to manage support staff in a “team” concept  
  • Work on multiple projects at once  
  • Schedule and direct the entire Team  
  • Proficient in the use of the Indiana Design Manual, INDOT Specifications Book, INDOT Standard Drawings, INDOT Utility Coordination, and INDOT Pavement Design processes  
  • Working knowledge of the INDOT Environmental process, INDOT Permitting process, and the INDOT Land Acquisition process.
  • Proficient with a computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects, and ACAD software  
  • Must be able to motivate staff  


Physical Requirements:  

  • Able to work seated for 9 or more hours per workday  
  • Able to work 40 hours or more per work week, as needed  
  • Able to work outdoors, traversing uneven or rugged terrain  
  • Able to travel throughout Indiana, including overnight stays 


Other Requirements:  

  • Possess a valid Indiana driver’s license  
  • Agree to abide by the personnel policies identified in the Company Policy  
  • Designated as a flexible position as defined in the Company Policy.
