Summary of Job Duties:
The Workforce Trainer reports directly to the Director of Workforce Development. The Workforce Trainer should possess a well-rounded skill set that includes but is not limited to industrial machine and heavy equipment operation of various types, as well as a thorough knowledge of accepted safety practices. Courses/training events will be assigned according to the skills possessed by the trainer. This position is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week with flexible schedule, as evening and weekend work may be required to meet industry needs. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Develop and facilitate trainings, within areas of expertise, targeted to industry, regional, and/or state needs. This may include short-term, non-credit, customized, or academic courses.
Prepare students through both in-class theory and hands-on skills instruction, including real-world scenario training while always observing accepted safety practices.
Maintain student files, records, grades, attendance, and other as required in compliance with appropriate UACCM, state, and/or federal policies, processes, and reporting standards.
Evaluate and provide feedback to trainees and companies throughout the training program.
Establish and maintain working relationships with industry partners.
Interact with business/industry leaders to assess training needs.
Recruit students into the program and seek out potential funding sources for tuition assistance, where appropriate.
Evaluate and maintain program equipment.
Participate as a member of a team to improve program and processes.
Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of seven (7) years related industry experience.
Required licenses and certifications specific to industry.
Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the minimum qualifications upon approval of the Chancellor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience as a trainer in industry.
Minimum of an Associate’s degree -899

Possesses substantial knowledge and skill set related to the trainings assigned
Possesses a working knowledge of accepted safety practices related to trainings assigned
Ability to compile and maintain accurate records and assemble and organize data
Able to be flexible and interface professionally with industry and administration
Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
Proficient in the use of a computer, specifically Microsoft applications such as Outlook and Word
Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Physically able to perform job duties related to advanced manufacturing training
