Summary of Job Duties:
The Patient Services Coordinator (PSC) performs patient care tasks and duties which do not require a license. The PSC is a trained member of the unit based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary patient management team.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
One (1) year of clerical experience
Ability to follow oral instructions, read and write.
Ability to communicate with staff, patient/families following Guest CARE guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
At least 6-months’ experience with computers and/or electronic records
Certification as a nursing assistant or military corpsman

Responsibilities:
Provides exceptional front-line service to patients, families, and visitors by following UAMS guest relations guidelines, maintaining professionalism, and assisting with information and navigation needs.
Performs a broad range of administrative and clinical support tasks including chart management, order entry, patient discharge preparation, communication with healthcare teams, and assistance with unit organization and patient care activities.
Ensures personal and patient safety by adhering to safety protocols, using proper body mechanics, responding in emergencies, and reporting unsafe situations appropriately.
Follows institutional policies including dress code, confidentiality practices, and the UAMS Code of Conduct; serves as a resource to coworkers and supports operational efficiency.
Participates in departmental and hospital-wide performance improvement efforts to enhance service quality and reduce waste.
Engages in ongoing education and completes annual competency and training requirements to maintain knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication and maintains a professional demeanor while assisting patients, families, and staff; consistently practices patient- and family-centered care.
Promotes cost-effective use of supplies and resources, offers suggestions for cost containment, and supports inventory control and budget-conscious practices.
