What You'll Bring:

This role blends the strategic oversight of a Business Operations Manager with the forward-thinking execution of a Strategy and Planning professional, directly supporting the Site Leader of the Global Capability Center (GCC) in Costa Rica. The individual will serve as a key enabler for the leadership team, ensuring strategic goals are met, initiatives are executed on time, and priorities are continuously aligned with evolving business needs. In addition to driving operational excellence and compliance, the role will focus on fostering a high-performance culture by monitoring key workforce metrics such as attrition and engagement, ensuring the GCC operates efficiently while delivering high-quality outcomes and maintaining a thriving, engaged workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with business goals and service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Finance, HR, IT, and Delivery to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

  • Support the planning and execution of strategic initiatives that drive business growth and transformation.

  • Develop and maintain operational dashboards and reports to provide visibility into performance and progress.

  • Assist in budgeting processes and monitor operational expenses to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, efficiency, and knowledge retention.

  • Evaluate and implement tools and technologies that enhance workflow automation and data visibility.

  • Lead and mentor operations staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Strategic Support:

  • Collaborate with the Site Leader and leadership team to develop, refine, and execute the GCC’s strategic objectives.

  • Monitor and report on the progress of key strategic initiatives, identifying potential risks and recommending corrective actions.

  • Ensure alignment between local GCC priorities and global business objectives.

Planning and Execution:

  • Facilitate the annual and quarterly planning processes, ensuring milestones and deliverables are clearly defined and achieved.

  • Act as the central point of coordination for cross-functional projects and initiatives, driving accountability and progress across teams.

  • Maintain a detailed action log and ensure timely execution of tasks by the leadership team.

Operations Oversight:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the GCC, ensuring smooth and efficient processes across functional areas.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies, proposing solutions for improvement.

  • Implement metrics and KPIs to measure the GCC’s performance and ensure operational excellence.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards across all GCC operations.

  • Conduct regular compliance reviews, audits, and risk assessments, recommending measures to address any gaps or issues.

  • Serve as a point of contact for compliance matters, facilitating alignment with legal, HR, and other functions.

Attrition and Engagement Management:

  • Partner with HR and leadership to address workforce challenges and create action plans to improve employee satisfaction and retention.

  • Analyze attrition trends, develop retention strategies, and implement initiatives to foster a positive work environment.

Leadership Team Collaboration:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Site Leader, providing insights and recommendations to optimize decision-making.

  • Coordinate leadership meetings, prepare agendas, and track follow-up actions.

  • Act as a liaison between the Site Leader and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.

Risk and Priority Management:

  • Monitor internal and external factors that may impact the GCC’s performance, helping the leadership team proactively adjust priorities.

  • Conduct regular reviews to assess whether strategic and operational goals remain aligned with evolving business needs.

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Partner with the FP&A team to report financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for projects and operations.

  • Ensure alignment between project financials and overall business objectives, providing regular updates to senior management.

  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.

Impact You'll Make:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, operations management, or similar roles within a multinational or shared services environment.

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA)

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
