Director – Partner Developer – Legal Professionals Strategic Partnerships & Alliances 

 

The Partner Development Director will play a pivotal role in identifying, recruiting, and onboarding new strategic partners into the Thomson Reuters Legal Professionals ecosystem. This is a highly visible, individual contributor role that requires a blend of strategic thinking, relationship building, and execution excellence. This individual contributor position sits at the intersection of technology, legal expertise, and business development, offering you the opportunity to drive significant growth in our thriving partner network of world-class AI partners. 

 

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Partner Development Director, you will:

  • Strategic Partner Sourcing & Identification: Proactively research, identify, and evaluate potential technology, content, and service partners that align with Thomson Reuters' strategic objectives and address emerging market needs within the legal sector. 
  • End-to-End Partner Acquisition: Lead the partner acquisition lifecycle from initial outreach and qualification to compelling value proposition development, negotiation, and contract closure. 
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, executive-level relationships with prospective partners, effectively communicating the mutual benefits of a partnership with Thomson Reuters. 
  • Onboarding & Handoff: Collaborate with internal teams (Partner Management, Product, Sales, Legal, Operations) to ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding process for new partners, setting them up for long-term success. 
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies within the legal technology and broader professional services sectors to identify new partnership opportunities. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, sales, marketing, and legal teams to ensure partner solutions are aligned with our product roadmap, go-to-market strategies, and legal requirements. 
  • Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective partners, managing evolving priorities and delivering on aggressive growth targets. 
  • Value Articulation: Craft compelling partnership value propositions tailored to different partner segments and business models 

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Partner Development Director if you have the following required qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in partner development, business development, alliance management, or strategic sales roles, with a proven track record of sourcing, negotiating, and closing complex, strategic partnerships. 
  • Demonstrated experience in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, LegalTech, or professional services industries. 
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build rapport at all organizational levels, including executive leadership. 
  • Proven ability to work autonomously as an individual contributor, manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess market opportunities and partner fit. 
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Technology, or related field. 

Additional preferred qualifications include:

  • Deep understanding of the legal market, legal technology trends, and the ecosystem of solutions providers in the legal industry. 
  • Experience with complex partnerships and navigating international business dynamics. 
  • Existing network within the legal technology or legal professional community.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.

For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $154,000 - $286,000.

This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
