Pharmacy Account Consultant
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Pharmacy Account Consultant IV based in Minnetonka, MN. This role will provide pharmaceutical and business development support across account services, business development, and proposal teams. The consultant will help market clinical strategies to control pharmacy costs and support a broad portfolio of pharmacy products and services. They will contribute to client retention efforts, assist in new client transitions, and serve as a key pharmacy resource and liaison among stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a pharmacy subject matter expert and develop PBM strategies focused on value creation and client retention.
- Act as a liaison among PBMs, clients, prospects, and internal operations and experience teams.
- Present pharmacy value propositions at broker and benefit consultant forums.
- Assist with the creation of sales training and marketing materials for various business segments (Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, Individual and Family).
- Collaborate on drug cost management strategies and support sales and account management in presenting pharmacy offerings.
- Contribute to the development of strategic sales messaging for RFP and RFI responses.
- Participate in finalist presentations, client meetings, and strategic discussions for designated accounts.
- Analyze client-specific claims data and develop actionable recommendations to enhance healthcare outcomes and manage drug spend.
- Translate clinical insights into clear communications for diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to align reporting with financial value delivery.
- Support the development and marketing of pharmacy-related solutions and services.
- Develop tailored solutions in response to evolving pharmacy and healthcare trends.
- Communicate program and formulary updates to key customers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
- Current, active, and unrestricted pharmacy license.
- At least 7 years of experience in a PBM, health plan, pharmaceutical sales, or similar industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration.
- Deep understanding of PBM/health plan sales and marketing.
- Strategic account management expertise, including customized solution development.
- Broad knowledge of healthcare delivery systems and pharmacy benefit structures.
- Ability to develop creative, long-term strategic solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and consultative skills to uncover client needs and develop insights.
- Advanced analytical skills for data interpretation and outcome communication.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including executive-level presentations.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Experience coaching and mentoring others.
- Competitive annual salary range: $111,200 – $190,600, based on qualifications and experience.

This is a hub-based role requiring regular onsite presence. Qualified candidates must live within commuting distance of one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN; Madison, WI; or Omaha, NE. Onsite attendance may be required up to 2–3 days per week, based on business needs.
