POSITION SUMMARY:

The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and implementing Frost Valley YMCA’s social media strategy across various platforms to enhance brand presence, drive engagement, and ultimately help drive the organization’s mission forward. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of current social media trends and best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Social Media Strategy Development: Work with the Director of Marketing Strategy to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with our overall marketing and organizational objectives.
  • Content Creation: Create and curate engaging and high-quality content for all social media platforms, including but not limited to written posts, images, videos, and infographics.
  • Influencer Collaboration: Manage influencer relationships and coordinate social media collaborations with influencers.
  • Community Management: Monitor and engage with our social media community by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Social Media Campaigns: Plan and execute social media campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive user engagement.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Monitor social media metrics and track the performance of campaigns to identify areas for improvement. Work with the Director of Marketing Strategy to prepare regular reports that analyze key metrics and provide insights for optimization.
  • Stay Updated with Trends: Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in social media marketing, and implement innovative strategies to keep our brand ahead of the curve.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales and programs, to align social media efforts with overall business goals and ensure brand consistency.
  • Brand Advocacy: Identify and engage with brand advocates and influencers to amplify our brand message and expand our reach.
  • Social Listening: Monitor social media channels for potential reputation issues or crises and develop strategies to address them effectively.
  • Platform Management: Manage all aspects of our social media platforms, including content scheduling, posting, and optimization, to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Brand Compliance: Ensure Frost Valley’s social media accounts and online presence remains consistent and compliant with YUSA Brand Guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Marketing.
  • Will embrace the Frost Valley character values and the mission of the organization in addition to the undertaking of the Strategic Plan 2025.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license. 
  • Proven experience as a Social Media Manager or similar role, with a demonstrable track record of success in managing social media platforms and driving engagement.
  • Photography experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and experience using social media management tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content tailored to different platforms and audiences.
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative ideas for social media campaigns.
  • Experience with graphic design and video editing tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with a variety of software, including: 
    • Asana (project management tool)
    • Meta Business Suite (social media management)
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) & Google equivalents
    • Square (eCommerce)
    • Wordpress (website management)

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Able to sit for long periods of time
  • Noise level may be moderate
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds at times

ANNUALIZED SALARY RANGE: $35,360.00 TO $39,520.00  plus generous benefits
