The Roy G. Perry College of Engineering at Prairie View A&M University invites applications for a Research Professor position in General Engineering. This role is designed for a distinguished scholar with a proven track record in securing and managing externally funded research projects, and who possesses national or international recognition in their field. The appointee will primarily focus on advancing the college's research mission, with opportunities to contribute to teaching and mentorship.
Responsibilities:
Research Leadership: Initiate and lead cutting-edge research projects in general engineering, aligning with the college's strategic priorities.
Grant Acquisition: Secure external funding through competitive grant proposals and cultivate partnerships with industry and government agencies.
Mentorship: Supervise and mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty in research activities and professional development.
Teaching Contribution: Teach at least one course annually, contributing to curriculum development and innovation in engineering education.
Collaboration: Foster interdisciplinary collaborations within the university and with external stakeholders to enhance research impact.
Service: Participate in departmental, college, and university committees, and contribute to the broader academic community. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Ph.D.) in Engineering or a closely related field.
Demonstrated success in obtaining and managing extramural research funding.
A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
National or international recognition in the field of engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in interdisciplinary research initiatives.
Evidence of effective teaching and mentorship at the graduate level.
Proven ability to build partnerships with industry and government entities.
