Data Governance Lead
Job Description
T-Rex is seeking a Data Governance Lead to support a high-impact digital transformation initiative within the Department of Defense’s health IT ecosystem. This role is embedded within our federal team and works directly with senior stakeholders across the Defense Healthcare Management Systems (DHMS) portfolio. This position plays a critical role in enabling operational success, coordinating governance forums (QPR, GBOD), and preparing executive-level deliverables such as briefings, presentations, and strategic communications. The ideal candidate has strong program management experience in acquisition-focused federal environments and is fluent in IT and software delivery workflows.
The Defense Healthcare Management System is transforming the delivery of healthcare and advance data sharing through a modernized electronic health record for service members, veterans and their families. The Workforce 3.0 program within DHMS is a managed solution that leverages innovative new processes, methods, and best-in-class methodologies from the private sector to enable the entire PEO DHMS workforce to deliver world-class technology. The DHMS systems provide important health IT capabilities to 9.6 million active duty military, their families, and their beneficiaries. Responsibilities:
Executive Operations Support
- Schedule and coordinate high-visibility governance meetings
- Ensure seamless meeting logistics (virtual/onsite, tech readiness)
- Drive SOP execution across governance forums
- Track decisions, actions, and deadlines for leadership visibility
Executive Communications & Deliverables
- Draft and refine presentations, talking points, and memos for federal and contractor leadership
- Oversee final quality control and alignment across briefing materials
- Manage pre-read materials and distribution processes
Change Management & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Translate complex technical and procedural changes into clear communications
- Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to align messaging with transformation goals
- Support multi-program initiatives and track deliverables across teams
Requirements:
- 10–15 years of experience in technical program management or operational leadership
- Experience supporting federal acquisition or military organizations
- High proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong attention to detail, especially under tight deadlines
Desired Skills:
- Prior military service or Secret clearance preferred
- Communication: Able to distill complex topics into clear, impactful messages
- Leadership: Skilled in managing stakeholders and coordinating across federal, contractor, and consulting teams
- Delivery & Agility: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage evolving priorities

In compliance with pay transparency guidelines, the annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $165,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. T-Rex considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
