The Syntegon Technology Services location in Raleigh, North Carolina is the headquarters of the North American Service Hub of Syntegon, which conentrates on the customer's unique requirements.
Job Description
Position Summary
Responsible for the installation, testing, analyzing, maintaining, repairing and training of Syntegon packaging equipment and associated products at customer sites, with primary emphasis on supporting various control platforms. Primary focus is to provide customers with excellent technical customer service and ensure complete satisfaction. This position has a direct and significant impact on maintaining our customer base as well as growing new business for Syntegon Technology.
Perform Field Service Work: Execute equipment installations, repairs, and training at customer sites, ensuring optimal machine performance and customer satisfaction.
Maintain Technical Proficiency: Stay current with control software (e.g., Allen Bradley) and PLC-equipped machinery through ongoing training and hands-on involvement.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Support Product, Project, Sales, Assembly, and Quality Control teams throughout the machine lifecycle—from design reviews to final acceptance testing.
Support Customers and Internal Teams: Provide technical assistance to customers and internal departments, including troubleshooting, software updates, and control system upgrades.
Conduct Training: Train customers and internal personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety, with a focus on controls and robotics systems.
Travel Requirements: Travel frequently (up to 90%) to customer sites, requiring proximity to a major airport; comply with safety, background, and drug/alcohol testing requirements.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Must have an Electrical Engineering degree or 2+ years of vocational training in Electromechanical Systems
- Must possess a minimum of 3+ years in the Packaging industry involved in designing, installing and trouble-shooting PLC and motion control software and hardware
- Demonstrated advanced mechanical, electrical and software skills.
- Proficiency in operating controls systems of equipment (Allen Bradley, CTC, Moeller, Siemens, PLC, PMAC, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ladder logic as well as other machine control software and hardware.
- Proficiency in robotic vision systems, software and hardware configurations and production parameter setup.
- Strong customer service focus with ability to assure customer confidence in the operation of equipment.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office)
- Strong oral and written skills with the ability to manage time and work independently
Additional Information
The expected compensation range for this position is between $75,000-$95,000 annually.
Compensation for roles at Syntegon varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
