JOB DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Clerk will work directly with the Controller and will be responsible for managing accounts payable transactions, processing payroll and supporting the Employee & Member Relations Manager. This role requires accuracy, confidentiality and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Requirements
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, verify, and process vendor invoices.
- Prepare and issue payments via check or ACH.
- Process bi-weekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with customer ACH & credit card payments.
- Assist with the month end close process.
- Provide support and backup to the Employee & Member Relations Manager in the areas of open enrollment, new hire orientation, updating employee changes in the payroll software, payroll reporting, and assist with managing PTO balances.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline the accounting process and increase efficiency.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting team and other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree in accounting or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, with a focus on payroll and accounts payable.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Familiarity with accounting software as well as Microsoft Excel.
