At Summit Solutions Group (SSG), we are the mission support arm of the?Summit Point Training Facility.?As a dedicated US Government contractor, we specialize in delivering comprehensive solutions that ensure operational excellence and mission success.  

WHAT YOU'LL DO

SSG is seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer. This role will focus on the design, integration, and testing of advanced autonomous systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems and component design, along with experience in simulation, testing, and manufacturing methodologies. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Lead or support the design and integration of mechanical and electrical components into autonomous systems. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system architecture, prototyping, and performance optimization. 
• Develop and execute test plans for validation of component and system performance. 
• Utilize CAD software and computer-based design tools to create models, drawings, and specifications. 
• Conduct CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to support design decisions and durability assessments. 
• Provide manufacturing insight to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective for production. 
• Document engineering designs, test results, and process improvements to ensure traceability and compliance with contract requirements.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field. 
• 8+ years of experience in systems or component design with a focus on integration into autonomous or complex mechanical systems. 
• Proficient in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation software for CFD/FEA. 
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, and tolerance analysis. 
• Experience with test design and validation of mechanical and electromechanical systems. 
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment. 
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.  
• Must have a valid driver’s license. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DoD or government-sponsored engineering projects. 
• Knowledge of autonomous system architecture or UGV/UAV platforms. 
• Familiarity with MIL-STD or related compliance frameworks.
