With 35 years of experience, Summit Point Motorsports Park and Training Facility provides Commercial Motorsports events along with customized Security and Emergency Medical training solutions on our 786-acre facility located in Summit Point, WV. At Summit Solutions Group (SSG), we are the mission support arm of the?Summit Point Training Facility.?As a dedicated US Government contractor, we specialize in delivering comprehensive solutions that ensure operational excellence and mission success.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
SSG is seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer. This role will focus on the design, integration, and testing of advanced autonomous systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems and component design, along with experience in simulation, testing, and manufacturing methodologies.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Lead or support the design and integration of mechanical and electrical components into autonomous systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system architecture, prototyping, and performance optimization.
- Develop and execute test plans for validation of component and system performance.
- Utilize CAD software and computer-based design tools to create models, drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to support design decisions and durability assessments.
- Provide manufacturing insight to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective for production.
- Document engineering designs, test results, and process improvements to ensure traceability and compliance with contract requirements.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in systems or component design with a focus on integration into autonomous or complex mechanical systems.
- Proficient in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation software for CFD/FEA.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, and tolerance analysis.
- Experience with test design and validation of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with DoD or government-sponsored engineering projects.
- Knowledge of autonomous system architecture or UGV/UAV platforms.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD or related compliance frameworks.
