Bishop LeBlond High School is seeking a full time-12 month Administrative Assistant. This position is responsible for providing administration and related office services for the school. Bishop LeBlond High School, serving scholars in grades nine through twelve, is a Catholic, college preparatory school providing a quality education by embracing academic excellence and promoting social and spiritual growth. Bishop LeBlond is the high school campus of the St. Joseph Catholic Academy located in St. Joseph, MO. The position is considered to be full time and reports to the Principal of Bishop LeBlond High School.


Essential Duties:

  • Answer phones, check voicemail, email and other correspondence.
  • Prepare, sort, and send all incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Welcome visitors and provide resources as needed.
  • Oversee daily office operations to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment.
  • Draft and edit documents, emails, and reports.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and material for meetings.
  • Help with planning/organization of the annual fundraisers.
  • Handle multiple, competing priorities.
  • Collect and document tuition payments.
  • Monthly reports for reimbursement, payroll and taxes for the lunch program.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the administrator.
  • Manage the front school office which includes operating the telephone system, managing deliveries, and greeting visitors.
  • Maintenance of files, records and photocopying documents.
  • Distribute mail to school staff, students, and parents and handling bulk mailings.
  • Assist principal in communications to staff, students, and parents including newsletters, fliers, and brochures.
  • Coordinate and manage school volunteers and monitor Virtus compliancy as the SEC assistant.
  • Provide other clerical services as needed for the operation of the school office.
  • Risk Management and Crisis Team member.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Handle records and sensitive issues with confidentiality, empathy, and compassion.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication Skills (verbal and written).? Demonstrate high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Work independently with confidence.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Manage filing systems and ensure proper record-keeping (ie. FACTS attendance, lunch program, immunizations).
  • Food and nutrition service training
  • Enter cash receipts
  • Maintain a substitute program.
  • Assist in back-to school lists.


Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Current first aid and CPR certification.
  • Prefer 3 or more years’ experience in a professional setting.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, SMORE, or other similar software platforms.
  • Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
