Product Associate

Smarkets London Full-time
$40,000
per year

Job Description

Smarkets is a trading platform for sports, political and current events markets that has handled more than £29 billion in traded volume since 2010. Our mission is to fix the sports‑betting industry through transparency, best‑value odds and world‑class technology and customer experience.

You will report to the Director of Product and work hand‑in‑hand with the Lead Product Manager for our customer‑facing applications (SBK & Smarkets), acting as their operational backbone. This is an office‑based role in London, five days a week.

Your mission

  • Accelerate product delivery and user insight by:

  • supporting the Lead PM across discovery, prioritisation and delivery,

  • owning the QA and release process for every product and platform, and

  • leading the user‑research programme that keeps our roadmap laser‑focused on customer value.

What you’ll be working on

  • Support the Lead PM for customer‑facing apps—coordinate rituals, keep stakeholders aligned and unblock execution.

  • Own QA & releases: plan test cycles, shepherd App Store / Play Store submissions, and monitor post‑release metrics.

  • Own user research: schedule and run interviews, craft surveys and usability tests, synthesise actionable insights.

  • Turn vague problem statements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Analyse feature usage, sign‑up funnels and in‑app behaviour; present findings that influence roadmap priorities.

  • Run lightweight competitive tear‑downs of betting, fintech and gaming apps to spot improvements.

  • Maintain the product backlog: triage bugs, ensure designs and copy are ready before sprint kick‑off.

  • Support launches—draft release notes, update help‑centre articles, brief Customer Support and Marketing.

About you

  • Tech‑savvy: instinctively explores new apps and can articulate what makes them delightful (or frustrating).

  • Analytical, first‑principles thinker: comfortable slicing data, but equally able to zoom out to the user journey.

  • High EQ & communicator: adapts style for engineers, designers, traders and executives.

  • Trend spotter: keeps up with product, sports‑tech and fintech news.

  • Nice‑to‑have: exposure to sports trading products, mobile gaming, brokerage or any highly regulated consumer product.
