Description
The ASC Manager is responsible for day-to-day surgery function and perioperative staff supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Assign and monitor employee schedules, establish plans for emergency coverage, and adjust staffing to meet the needs of the organization daily assigning PTO when needed.
- Observe staff for annual competencies and conduct quarterly and annual reviews.
- Initiate and promote team building, employee appreciation, and regular staff meetings.
- Participates in Safety and WISHA training.
- Orients employees to job-specific duties according to the Company’s guidelines with ongoing assessment of skill and knowledge to ensure competent care delivery utilizing job-specific orientation checklists.
- Responsible for the daily flow of the surgery center (staffing, supplies, sterilization, templates, etc.).
- Review ASC's financial health routinely and create plans to reach ASC's financial goals.
- Maintains documentation of staff education, licensure, certification, and vaccinations according to company policy.
- Ensures facility logs (Daily Surgery, Implants, etc.) are maintained.
- Review facility supply, instrument, linen, and equipment requests and needs for accuracy and compliance, ongoing assessment of facility needs, and participate in inventories as required.
- Oversees purchases of routine supplies on a weekly and as-needed basis.
- Follows the Company’s policy and procedures, including Infection Prevention.
- Participates as a Safety Committee member and ensures regular safety meetings.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a high degree of management competency, including but not limited to leadership, collaboration, negotiation, motivational, and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of sterile technique as it applies to operating room nursing.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures to be able to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and safe positioning of patients for those procedures.
- The proper method of handling instruments, tissue specimens, cultures, and smears before, during, and after use.
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite or G-Suite
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills- demonstrated ability to convey ideas and information verbally and in writing.
Education and Experience:
- Current license from the State Board of Nursing
- Three (3) plus years of outpatient surgical experience that includes management or supervisor experience.
- Current with CPR/AED
- ACLS is preferred.
