Job Description
This temporary position is responsible for planning and development and support of the Sample Manager LIMS system. The role ensures the efficient operation of the system in collaboration with IT and other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical input for system functionality and development tasks.
- Developing required functionality, format, and system enhancements.
- Collaborating with the LIMS team and clients to translate business requirements into a fully functioning LIMS solution.
- Supporting system testing, troubleshooting, and documentation throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Take a lead role in the development of Sample Manager LIMS at the assigned locations.
- To coordinate and ensure the IT requirements are understood and ready prior to the implementation ( Instrument Configuration / Customer Updates / Network / Portals)
- Work with Lab Managers and Business to ensure continuity
- Sample Manager requirements are understood in the laboratory
- To collect accurate data based on current operations and maintain master data.
- To define Implementation plan so that Super Users have list of priorities.
- To ensure Customer details are updated and interfaces set-up
- To define “gaps” EDT templates / Reporting / Project Billing/ labels / schemes / templates / specifications / etcs.
- To ensure that management reports / KPI’s are defined and understood.
- Map the Process “follow the sample” to ensure that process is aligned with Sample Manager
- Manage the change management process.
- Work with Quality Managers to ensure that MOC process / accreditation / Global QC requirements are understood +implemented
- Coordinate SU resources to priorities activities.
- Provide Support to Lab POST Go-LIVE to manage the transition process and ensure overall effectiveness.
- May be assigned and coordinate special or ad hoc projects as needed.
This role is essential to ensure the successful deployment and smooth operation of the Sample Manager LIMS environment.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Chemistry, Computer Science or a related field is required
- A minimum of 3 years laboratory experience, preferably in a Geochemistry laboratory is required.
- Previous experience with computer programming and databases is an asset.
- Excellent understanding of LIMS applications and procedures.
- Solid understanding of various lab procedures and general knowledge of instrumentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
