Job Description

As an Assembly Inspector  you will be responsible for inspecting, verifying, and maintaining the quality of processes, parts, and assemblies in accordance with company and regulatory standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and coordination with various departments to ensure compliance and product integrity.

  • Use and interpret drawings, inspection manuals, specifications, and shop mathematics to perform inspections.
  • Operate precision measuring instruments, specialized inspection machines, and tools/equipment to complete assignments.
  • Follow Inspection (shop) procedures to accept or reject parts, processes, and assemblies.
  • Operate testing machines, calculate and record results accurately.
  • Verify that tools are qualified before use.
  • Prepare and maintain Quality records as required.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Management System Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain required certifications and qualifications.
  • Plan your own sequence of operations to efficiently complete work tasks.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and specifications.
  • Apply an overall understanding of production processes in quality inspection tasks.
  • Contact other company departments or customer representatives to coordinate work as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Use basic computing skills to document findings and results.
  • Work across equivalent or lower-level Inspector job codes as needed.
  • Cross-train in equivalent level roles in Assembly, Composite, Metals, Process, and Systems/Payload Structures Mechanic classifications.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in aerospace airframe assembly inspection
  • Must be available to work any shift- 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift operations
  • Must be available to work any shift- 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift operations
  • Available for periods of heavy overtime
  • Blueprint reading experience
  • MS Office and SAP experience 
  • Experience writing NCRs (Tags)
  • Ability to obtain all required training certifications and maintain certifications while on assignment
  • SAP experience
  • Previous Spirit or Boeing experience
  • Boeing 737 Airframe/Fuselage Experience
