Job Summary:
The Sr. HR Business Partner collaborates closely with business leaders and department managers to provide tactical and strategic HR support and solutions that align with organizational goals and objectives. The role utilizes strong HR expertise, business acumen, and relationship-building skills to effectively partner with stakeholders across the organization.
This role works to achieve operational targets under general supervision. Requires the ability to influence others by explaining facts, policies, and practices. Problems faced may be difficult, but generally not complex. Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values, and culture.
A unique combination of strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, HR experience, upstream oil and gas business acumen, and a strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills, with the ability to work in a complex, fast-paced environment, will be paramount for success.
This client is in a high-growth mode and the HR team is growing. This role positions you well for future career advancement. Individuals should expect to be in this role for 3 years on average.
This role requires full-time in-office support for the first several months of the role. Once relationships are established, the role will move to a hybrid of 3-4 days in the office. The office location is downtown Denver, CO.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business leaders to understand their strategic objectives, challenges, and talent needs.
- Provide expert HR guidance and support to business units on a wide range of HR topics, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
- Support talent management initiatives, including workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development programs.
- Collaborate with managers to identify high-potential employees and support employee growth and development.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and consultant to managers on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct investigations into employee complaints or grievances and recommend appropriate resolutions in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Support organizational change initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and process improvements, by providing change management expertise and guidance to leaders and employees.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and legal requirements, including employment laws and regulations.
- Partner with the HR team to review, update, and communicate HR policies and practices to ensure consistency and fairness across the organization.
- Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry, upstream preferred.
- Experience working with corporate functions such as finance, IT, geology, etc.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a full-time direct placement position with an expected annualized base salary range of $120,000 - $175,000. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
