Job Duties:
As a Payroll Processor, you will be responsible for:
- Manage day-to-day payroll tasks, including:
- Approving, posting, and reconciling payroll transactions.
- Validating employee timecards and hours worked.
- Reviewing and interpreting Kronos reports.
- Making manual adjustments to payroll as necessary.
- Resolve payroll-related issues such as:
- Budget allocation failures.
- Incorrect business unit assignments.
- Discrepancies in payroll amounts and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with internal payroll procedures and external labor regulations.
- Provide training and support to employees on payroll processes and best practices.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee and organizational data.
- Support Accounts Payable functions by:
- Reviewing and verifying invoices for accuracy.
- Entering payment vouchers and maintaining records.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
- Continuously improve payroll processes and contribute to system enhancements.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework or vocational education in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field OR experience performing accounting functions and interpreting financial data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of payroll experience or familiarity with payroll systems (experience with Kronos and Workday a plus).
- 1-2 years office environment
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive data with discretion and professionalism.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and support employees
- Basic understanding of payroll and accounting principles, with the ability to interpret financial and employee data
- Proficiency with computer systems and willingness to learn payroll tools such as Workday and Kronos
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately
- Flexibility and initiative to learn, adapt, and contribute to ongoing process improvements
