About the Role
Salary: $170,000 - $190,000 per annum plus super
As a Principal Engineer in our Platform Enablement team you will be working with multiple engineering squads to uncover common engineering problems faced across the division and to expand our technology platform to offer solutions that help squads deliver features to their customers in a faster manner whilst striving for technical excellence.
Your primary customers will be Team Leads and other Principal Engineers within the Technology Division and you will work closely with the Engineering Managers to define the technical architecture and roadmaps for the various systems that they own.
Responsibilities for this role will include:
- Identifying and evaluating new technologies and methodologies that could benefit the organisation's technical capabilities
- Participating in architectural decision-making processes and contributing to the overall technical strategy of the company
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design patterns, and coding standards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between technical solutions and business objectives
- Presenting technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Continuously improving the development process, including CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and deployment strategies
- Proactively identifying and mitigating potential technical risks and bottlenecks in the development lifecycle
Qualifications
About You
- Proven experience working with a number of different stakeholders to collaboratively drive solutions that align to technical best practice as well as being fit for purpose to the environment that they are applied to
- At least 8 years of experience in a complex application development, implementation and support environment, at a Senior level.
- Demonstrated experience in application analysis, design, development and deployment using technologies aligned with RWWA’s stack.
- Ability to provide design and coding leadership, intelligent problem-solving, and management of people in a team environment.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in designing systems for highly available, scalable, and high-performance cloud offerings, including AWS and/or Azure
- Strong experience in designing, coding, and testing C# services and applications across a range of .Net versions.
- Understanding of software application analysis, design, development, and deployment using any of following languages: C#, ASP.Net, Python, and/or YAML.
- Strong experience and a passion for developing web applications using modern frameworks, tools, and technologies including React, Typescript, Redux, Jest, Emotion (or other CSS-in-JS libraries) and HTML5.
- Experience with React Native or Native iOS/Android development will be well regarded.
