We are seeking a highly specialized App Store Relations Manager to provide expert guidance and potentially oversee our efforts to successfully navigate the Apple App Store review process. This senior role requires an individual with recent, direct experience within Apple's App Store ecosystem. You will act as our primary advisor and strategist, leveraging your deep, up-to-date understanding of Apple's Review Guidelines, processes, and internal perspectives. Your mission is to develop and implement strategies that ensure compliance, minimize rejection risks, troubleshoot issues effectively, and foster positive relations (where possible) to achieve timely app releases.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive app submission strategies, ensuring full compliance with current Apple App Store Review Guidelines.
- Provide expert insights into Apple’s current review processes, automated scanning, policy enforcement trends, and internal decision-making.
- Act as an internal "App Store Reviewer," proactively identifying and addressing potential compliance or guideline issues before submission, collaborating closely with development, design, and product teams.
- Advise on (and potentially manage) the entire app submission process, including metadata optimization, ASO best practices, and App Store Connect management.
- Expertly interpret Apple's feedback and rejection reasons, devising effective solutions, appeals, and resubmission strategies.
- Offer guidance on best practices for managing both Individual and Organization developer accounts to maintain long-term health and avoid revocations.
- Stay ahead of the curve on all App Store policy changes, guideline updates, and enforcement shifts, adapting our strategies accordingly.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, training, and the refinement of our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Cultivate and leverage relationships with Apple contacts to facilitate smoother approvals and escalate critical concerns when necessary.
- You MUST have been directly employed by Apple Inc.
- Verifiable experience working directly at Apple within one or more of the following key areas: App Store Review, Policy Enforcement, Worldwide Developer Relations (WWDR), or Apple Legal/Regulatory Compliance related to the App Store.
- In-depth, nuanced understanding of the Apple App Store Review Guidelines and their practical application/interpretation.
- Strong familiarity with App Store Connect and the entire app submission and review lifecycle.
- Proven analytical and strategic problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), capable of explaining complex issues clearly to diverse teams.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and the ability to work independently.
- Strong understanding of the mobile app development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience dealing with high-volume app submissions or gaming applications.
- Experience navigating complex or "gray area" guideline interpretations.
- Existing (appropriate) contacts within Apple's developer-facing ecosystem.
