Systems Administrator
Job Description

RMC is hiring Systems Administrators to support our Navy customer in Crane, Indiana. The Systems Administrator is responsible for administering and supporting the daily operational requirements of computer network systems, including workstations, file servers, and web servers. This role ensures the integrity, security, and efficiency of IT infrastructure supporting mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) operations. The position requires a proactive, adaptable approach to meet the dynamic needs of the expeditionary warfighter and tactical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems (workstations, file servers, web servers).
- Perform systems upgrades, manage network accounts, and implement network security measures.
- Design, update, and maintain local system documentation and web interfaces.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance, network connectivity, and security incidents.
- Implement and maintain network security tools, including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services.
- Monitor system configuration (hardware and software) and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on IT systems and applications relevant to their roles.
- Assist users with IT-related issues and deliver customer-focused technical support.
- Develop and update technical documentation, user manuals, and IT policies.
- Ensure systems are compliant with Cyber WorkForce (CWF) directives and maintain required certifications as specified by contract or regulation.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience in systems administration or a closely related discipline.
- An active DoD SECRET clearance is required to start. The applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience supporting DoD, Navy, or other government IT environments.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, network management, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a flexible, team-oriented environment.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $55,000 to $102,000 (annually).
