Job Description
The Red Gate Group is seeking a highly experienced and mission-driven Science & Technology (S&T) Program Manager to support the Office of Naval Research (ONR). This critical role is at the heart of shaping and advancing innovative research programs that directly enhance warfighter capabilities across the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
As the S&T Coordinator, you will serve as a trusted advisor and senior leader, supporting a portfolio of research programs spanning bioinspired technologies, decision sciences, AI and autonomy, human performance, information warfare, medical innovation, and more. You will work alongside senior military and civilian stakeholders, research institutions, and industry partners to drive the development, transition, and integration of advanced technologies into operational environments.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive programmatic, technical, and compliance support for diverse S&T initiatives.
Lead coordination across research domains such as neuroscience, human-systems integration, AI/autonomy, and performance optimization.
Facilitate collaboration with ONR Program Officers, Navy/Marine Corps leadership, academia, and international partners.
Support the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) and ensure adherence to ethical research standards.
Oversee program planning, budgeting, reporting, and technology transition efforts.
Provide strategic input and high-level briefings to senior Navy and DoD decision-makers.
Manage a team of scientists, engineers, and analysts supporting research execution and innovation outcomes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Current TS/SCI clearance
PhD or ScD in Life Sciences, Social Sciences, or Human-Systems Integration with 10+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 20+ years of relevant experience
Deep understanding of the Naval Research Enterprise, including ONR’s role in S&T development
Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams supporting Government research programs
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with a track record of implementing process improvements and engaging diverse stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex scientific information into clear, actionable insights
Experience supporting senior Government executives and contributing to high-level strategic initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
DAWIA, FAC-P/PM, or PMP certification
10+ years supporting Navy S&T program development and management
Prior experience with DoD or Navy acquisition, science, or technology programs
