Network Engineer
Job Description
Ready is looking for a hands-on Network Systems Engineer to help architect and scale the Hypercube—our proprietary distributed infrastructure platform. You’ll be responsible for building high-reliability networking systems while also writing software to automate, monitor, and optimize their performance. This is an ideal role for a systems thinker who thrives at the intersection of network engineering and software development.
About your role at Ready ⚡️
Design and deploy fault-tolerant network topologies for Ready’s Hypercube infrastructure.
Write automation software to support network provisioning, monitoring, diagnostics, and routing.
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize node-to-node connectivity and performance.
Own network telemetry: visibility into throughput, latency, packet loss, and availability.
Investigate and resolve system-wide networking issues across edge deployments.
Build interfaces for dynamically configuring and scaling Hypercube nodes across various environments.
Document architectural decisions, operational playbooks, and SLA guidelines.
Stay current on protocols, transport-layer innovations, and resilient network design patterns.
A bit about you 🥇
Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience designing and operating IP networks, with software development exposure.
Proficient in Python, Go, or Rust for writing systems tools or orchestration logic.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, NAT, and DNS.
Experience with performance debugging, packet tracing, and network observability tools.
Familiar with container networking (CNI), overlay networks, or mesh architectures.
Bonus: Experience with SDN, edge compute networks, or IoT connectivity.
