Job Description

Our Mission

QuantWare is the world's leading manufacturer of superconducting quantum hardware. As a high growth start-up with a global customer base, our mission is to accelerate the advent of the quantum computer. We push the boundaries of what's possible in our field. We work on making the world’s largest quantum processors, as fast as possible.

At QuantWare, we’re not just producing quantum hardware for the hyperscalers of tomorrow; we’re working on technology that will change the world. To make that ambition a reality, we need exceptional people who drive real impact. That’s where you come in.

As a Cryogenics Engineer, you will play a key role in scaling and optimising the cryogenic infrastructure that powers our quantum hardware. From achieving near state-of-the-art coherence performance to ensuring high uptime and throughput across our cryostat fleet, your work will directly influence the success of our R&D and product development efforts. You’ll lead the commissioning and continuous optimisation of cryogenic systems and infrastructure, enabling the next generation of quantum processors.

What You’ll Be Doing

Core Responsibilities

  • Improve cryogenic setup performance, including coherence, base temperature stability, ground loops, and dephasing, to near state-of-the-art levels

  • Expand cryogenic measurement capacity by increasing cooldown throughput from 8 to 12 devices per cycle

  • Maintain operational availability of our cryostats at 95% or higher as the fleet scales

  • Procure, install, and commission new cryogenic systems, with full operation within four weeks of delivery

Supporting Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support measurement campaigns

  • Optimise electromagnetic shielding and device packaging

  • Improve S-parameter measurement accuracy and overall RF setup performance

Your Profile

  • Deep understanding of cryogenic systems and common failure modes

  • Hands-on experience with RF measurements and optimisation of RF setups

  • Experience with CAD design is a plus

  • Proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a strong drive to improve and scale complex technical infrastructure
