Job Description
QAD is looking for a Business Consultant (Pre Sales / Solutions Consultant) to provide customers and sales reps with QAD Global Trade & Transportation products and/or solutions advice during pre-sales discussions. Maintain extensive proficiency and knowledge of engineering and complex aspects of QAD products. Provide guidance with detailed knowledge to prospect and/or sales reps. Answer complex questions on function and usage and solve sales support problems. Prepare and perform detailed QAD product demonstrations and QAD product prototypes for prospects. Highly skilled, work under minimal supervision on complex projects. Wide latitude for independent judgment.
What you'll do:
Ensure achievement of Sales targets and customer satisfaction through providing support to Sales in:
- How solution maps to the customer’s business issues/needs and solves problems and generates benefits for their business
- Identifying opportunities for customers where QAD can further improve efficiency, cost savings and other benefits in their current business
- Providing demonstrations, presentations, training, consultation and sales support services for the Sales team and clients.
- Conducting user requirement analyses and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of products/services to fulfill customer needs for selected accounts.
- Undertaking tasks requiring product analysis, diagnosis and problem solving, qualifying the product/service fit and defining support needs.
- Assist with the development of key documents and presentations such as proposals, solution overviews, etc.
- Ensure good hand over from Sales to Delivery, and that Delivery understands solution and customer’s reports/outcomes.
- Take a lead in understanding new and developing products and services in QAD and disseminating information to the Business Unit and the Sales Team.
- Actively involved in customer events and trade shows. Identify opportunities across the customer base and new customers for billable work. Take the lead in discussing the products and solutions, articulating the value proposition.
- Aid and assist the sales team on Business Reviews. Provide leadership in the process in areas of the product and solution offering details. Focus area in the discovery process.

Qualifications
- Education/Licenses: Bachelor's degree or equivalent training in global trade compliance, business, supply chain mgmt, engineering or computer science.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant Sales or compliance software experience, preferably in a Pre-Sales role, coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Google Workspace. Additional computer software required for demoing software.
- Other knowledge or skills:
- Global Trade experience/knowledge, ideally in Imports.
- U.S. Customs knowledge/experience.
- QAD product knowledge, Trade Compliance skills, understanding of supply chain and transportation concepts (e.g. APICS).
- High-level understanding of application architecture, databases, integration and infrastructure is a definite advantage.
- Excellent and demonstrated presentation and verbal/written communication skills.
- Good understanding of product positioning, sales practices and QAD’s selling strategy.
- Ability to tailor presentations to the needs and varying levels of technical understanding of different audiences.
- Excellent analytical, diagnostic, project management and problem-solving skills.
- Travel Requirement: 25% - 35%

Compensation Package:
- Base Salary Range: $110,000 - 115,000 USD Annual (12 Months) + commission.
- Placement within our pay range will vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and market location variations as well as internal peer equity.
