Location: Fully Remote – Must be barred in California, Minnesota, Nevada, Washington, or Colorado

A nationally recognized employment law firm is seeking a Special Counsel to join its growing virtual practice. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced employment litigators to lead complex matters in a fully remote environment—without the pressure of business development and with a reasonable billable target.
Position Overview:
As Special Counsel, you will:
- Handle a wide range of employment litigation matters, including administrative charges, demand letters, and cases involving Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI)
- Manage single-plaintiff litigation in both state and federal courts
- Take the lead on case strategy, legal drafting, and oversight of junior attorneys
- Occasionally attend hearings or conferences (limited and primarily local travel)
- Collaborate with a highly experienced team of partners, counsel, and legal support staff within a well-established remote infrastructure
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $185,000 – $200,000
Bonus Opportunity: Up to 10% annually
Billable Hour Target: Approximately 1,750 to 1,850 hours per year

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Minimum of 7 years of employment litigation experience, preferably in a law firm environment
- Active bar license in one of the following states: California, Minnesota, Nevada, Washington, or Colorado
- Proven ability to manage cases independently from start to finish
- Experience with EPLI-related litigation is highly preferred
- Strong legal writing, litigation, and organizational skills
- Comfort and effectiveness working in a remote-first legal practice
