Position Summary:
This is a truly unique opportunity to not only design, but to profoundly influence the aesthetic, functional, and social fabric of entire new communities, leaving a lasting and positive impact on how people live, connect, and thrive. The Project Designer will play a key role in the design and development of our residential projects. This individual will be responsible for translating project concepts and requirements into detailed design plans, ensuring that projects are aesthetically pleasing, functional, and meet all applicable codes and regulations. The Project Designer will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders throughout the design process. No professional license is required for this position. Remote work is not available at this time.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare design drawings, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details, using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Assist in the development of project concepts and design presentations, including 3D renderings and models.
- Select and specify materials, finishes, and fixtures, considering aesthetics, durability, cost, and sustainability.
- Ensure that designs comply with all applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards.
- Manage and coordinate external consultants (architects, engineers, landscape architects, etc.) to ensure seamless design integration and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Review shop drawings and submittals from contractors to ensure compliance with design documents.
- Visit project sites to observe construction progress and address design-related issues.
- Maintain project design files and documentation.
- Participate in design review meetings and provide design recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- 1-5 years of professional experience.
- Proficiency in BIM software (Revit) is required.
- Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
- Excellent design skills, including space planning, detailing, and materials selection.
- Ability to communicate design ideas effectively, both verbally and visually.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with 3D rendering software (e.g., SketchUp, 3ds Max) is a plus.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and LEED certification is a plus.
