The Ohio State University seeks a results-oriented Web Manager to help shape our online presence, engage diverse audiences, and drive impactful campaigns. The manager will be responsible for enhancing our online presence through effective website management and digital marketing strategies, executing and measuring targeted marketing campaigns (email, SMS, social media, web, mobile apps, and online advertising) to support the Advancement team and Alumni Association's goals. Reporting to the Associate Director, Digital Channels Production, this role requires expertise in HTML for web and email, automation for SMS and email, and omni channel strategies. Collaborating with cross-functional teams is essential.
Under general guidance, this professional will operate with a high degree of independence, decision-making capabilities, judgment, consistency, and relationship building. Requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong organizational skills with an extreme attention to detail. The manager must collaborate and interact effectively with university, distinguished, and notable constituents, that include alumni, donors, faculty, grateful patients, etc. within defined parameters. Critical thinker with a knack for problem-solving, comfortable adapting to ever-changing environments, and discretion are essential when handling sensitive information.

Department Overview
Advancement Marketing and Communications (AMC) provides strategic consultation, content generation, and creative solutions across a variety of channels that achieve marketing and communications objectives for The Ohio State University’s alumni, donor, and grateful patient audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities
75% Oversee the day-to-day management of several websites, ensuring content is up-to-date, accurate, and engaging. Collaborate with the content team to create and update website content. Function as the ADA digital coordinator for the Office of Advancement, completing all required trainings and implanting across a variety of platforms. Directs planning and executing digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing, social media, and online advertising, with a focus on driving website traffic and conversions. Coordinate with IT and web development teams to troubleshoot and resolve website issues. Createsweb foundations for targeted email and SMS campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). Leverage data to create page optimizations and A/B testing opportunities. Optimize web templates, landing pages, and other components for use in direct digital marketing strategies. Responsible for creating responsive designs via HTML5 and CSS3 (i.e. working in Drupal and SFMC).
15% Creates wireframes and mockups to visualize web landing page layouts and user flows. Oversees direct digital advertising campaigns across platforms like Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Implement and monitor SEO strategies to improve website visibility and search engine rankings. Collaborates with graphic designers, team members, and vendors to develop high-quality media assets.
10% Use web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track website performance, generate reports, and provide insights for continuous improvement. Completes special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media Experience in digital marketing.
- Four (4) years of relevant experience in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media Experience in digital marketing.
- Experience with Google Analytics and other web analytics tools.
- Knowledge of email marketing tools, and digital advertising platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sprout Social, HootSuite, HubSpot).
- Experience using SEO and SEM best practices.

- Six (6) years of experience in digital marketing.
- Certified in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or marketing automation tools.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software (i.e. Canva).
- Familiarity with various platforms and tools such as, Tableau, Scalefunder, and BlackBaud or similar customer relationship management system.
- Experience with social media platforms.
- Experience working in a higher education or non-profit setting.
- Knowledge of SQL or other data query languages.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.
- Developed Preference Centers to enhance donor engagement and communication within the university's Advancement unit.
