Oak Grove Technologies, LLC, a dynamic and fast-growing federal contractor, is seeking a proficient Robotics Design & Fabrication Instructor to deliver advanced, hands-on training in unmanned systems design and fabrication. The instructor will teach from an established and approved Program of Instruction (POI), with the flexibility to adapt lesson plans as necessary. The role involves instructing Special Operations Forces (SOF) students in designing, assembling, and modifying small unmanned systems (sUxS) using commercially available components and organic manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Teach from a developed and approved POI, with the ability to modify lesson plans to meet evolving training requirements.
  • CAD Instruction: Provide in-depth instruction in SOLIDWORKS, guiding students through 3D modeling, simulation, and design principles tailored to tactical robotics.
  • Fabrication Training: Instruct students on selecting and operating manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, manual mills and lathes, and 3D printers (FDM and SLS).
  • Component Development: Guide students in developing and modifying components from desired materials, utilizing additive manufacturing methods appropriate for UAS structures.
  • Subsystem Testing: Lead testing of fabricated components to ensure functionality and performance standards are met.
  • Digital Fabrication Workflow: Translate CAD designs into functional parts using slicer software and CNC G-code workflows.
  • Curriculum Refinement: Assist in capturing after-action feedback and contribute to ongoing lesson plan and instructional material improvements.
  • Safety Compliance: Uphold and enforce strict safety protocols during all training activities, emphasizing the importance of safety in all workshop and field environments.
  • Student Engagement: Effectively teach and mentor Special Operations students, adapting instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and operational backgrounds.

Required Qualifications:

  • SOLIDWORKS Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in SOLIDWORKS, with the ability to teach both fundamental and advanced features.
  • Fabrication Experience: Hands-on experience with machining, CNC tools, and 3D printing (FDM and SLS).
  • Instructional Skills: Proven ability to deliver technical instruction, with experience adapting lesson plans to meet specific training objectives.
  • Clearance: Active Secret Clearance.
  • Safety Focus: Strong commitment to safety, with experience implementing and enforcing safety protocols in training environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SOLIDWORKS certifications (CSWA, CSWP, or Educator Certification)
  • Prior military service, particularly within Special Operations, EOD, or Combat Engineering
  • Experience mentoring or instructing military personnel
  • Familiarity with unmanned systems (aerial, ground, or maritime)
  • Experienced FPV Pilot (not required, but a plus)
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing software (e.g., Cura, PrusaSlicer) and CAM tools
  • Experience contributing to curriculum refinement, lesson plan updates, or technical documentation

Clearance Requirement:
Active Secret Clearance (minimum required)
