- Create and manage ArcGIS Server services, web maps, and data layers
- Provide support and training to internal users on GIS tools and workflows
- Collaborate with planning, engineering, public works, and emergency response teams
- Perform data collection using GPS devices and ensure data quality/accuracy
- Convert, manage, and standardize GIS data from multiple sources
- Assist with technical project coordination and documentation
- Support emergency operations with GIS services during activations and exercises
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience with GIS platforms — especially ESRI ArcGIS 10.1+
- Familiarity with SQL Server, shapefiles, metadata, and web mapping tools
- Experience creating GIS products like custom maps, layers, and interactive apps
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot technical issues
- Comfort working across departments and presenting GIS capabilities to non-technical users
Bonus If You Have:
- Experience with ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, or scripting (Python, ModelBuilder)
- Exposure to municipal government or public infrastructure projects
- Experience with emergency response or field-based data collection workflows
Why This Role?
- Make a direct impact on community planning, infrastructure, and emergency response
- Work in a collaborative team with real visibility and responsibility
- Great stepping stone for GIS professionals ready to grow into lead roles or specialized tracks
- One-year contract with solid compensation: $40/hour
