New England Dermatology & Laser Center has been providing dermatology care to the greater Springfield community for over 70 years. We're looking for an experienced Finance Director with a conscientious work ethic to join the leadership team for our busy specialty practice.
This position reports to the Executive Director of Operations and is responsible for planning, recommending and implementing organizational and departmental systems that meet or support the goal of providing quality, patient-centered, outcome-focused care that ensures compliance and financial stewardship to the organization, including:
· Plans, organizes, directs and manages all aspects of finance, accounting, billing, internal controls, budgeting and auditing functions, including the development and administration of policies and day-to-day operations.
· Prepares and oversees the budget, cost and general accounting, cash balance monitoring and resolution, journal entries and accounts payable, fixed assets, 401(k) administration, billing (accounts receivable/collection), and risk management, and ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting, tax, and financial reporting functions, ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual.
Schedule
· M-F 7:30a-4:30p; evening and weekend hours as needed.

Requirements
Education
· Master’s degree in finance, accounting or related discipline or Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related discipline plus equivalent work experience.
Experience
· 10+ years managerial/administrative experience managing an accounting or finance function in a medium-sized company required. Experience in healthcare, a dermatology practice or an ambulatory surgery center setting strongly preferred.
Skills
· Professional, courteous manager that works well independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to demonstrate strategic thinking, see the big picture, research, analyze and interpret complex data, prepare comprehensive reports, set course and translate that to action planning. Thorough knowledge of financial and legal best practices and requirements in healthcare with a proven ability to provide sound and ethical financial counsel to executive leadership. Proven finance and accounting skills, along with an understanding of management and organizational processes and healthcare policy. Knowledge of governmental and reimbursement impacts in dermatology practices, fiscal management practices and human resource management techniques. Strong and effective interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills. Accuracy, attention to detail, good judgment and follow-through. Requires strong computer skills, advanced skills with accounting software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher.
